WHO WE ARE

Business owners. Employees. Residents. Visitors. Proponents. Advocates. We’re all of these things—and together, we’re Downtown Shareholders of Kansas City, Kansas. We work tirelessly to advance the revitalization of Downtown KCK through a combination of outreach, programming, services, and advocacy that share two common goals: to bring people to Downtown KCK, and to make the existing community even more diverse, vibrant, and successful.

In other words? We’re writing a new chapter in Downtown KCK’s story, and we’d love for you to be a part of the narrative in #OurKCK.

WHAT WE DO

We’re Downtown KCK’s champion

From helping business owners find the property and resources to bring their business plans to life to introducing new visitors to the diversity, vibrancy, and culture that Downtown KCK has to offer, Downtown Shareholders is dedicated to revitalizing the area by not only showcasing the potential of KCK’s urban core, but also by fulfilling that potential.

A go-to. A resource. A source of information. A friendly face. A secret weapon. Downtown Shareholders is all of that—and more. We oversee the Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District (SSMID), comprised of security and cleaning ambassadors that work tirelessly to make our Downtown as clean, safe and welcoming as possible. We host events to bring people into Downtown KCK so that they can explore, mingle and get to know the area. We work with other organizations like the Wyandotte Economic Development Council and the Kansas City Kansas Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Unified Government of Wyandotte County, to advocate for economic development, business retention, awareness, and assistance. And we connect our network of members with the people, groups, and resources they need to help their businesses thrive, and their families prosper.

In Downtown KCK, everyone has a voice and a purpose—and as part of our mission to help lead the ongoing revitalization of Downtown KCK, we want to make sure they find both. After all, Downtown KCK is everybody’s Downtown. This is #OurKCK.
